Sky lights is one type of roof
which can make your living room one of the brightest and most ventilated
rooms, it can really add beauty to the environment of the room. With the
sun above and sky lights on the roof it allows much more light to pass through
in the house as it is directly above the house. It can let even many times
more heat and light in the house. It can look pretty too and can add much
more glamour to your house. But for hotter areas it can really make the
electric bills skyrocket even though a pleasant atmosphere is maintained
in the house. So to avoid such undue expenses there are a variety of shades
too available which can reduce much of the heat content as per liking.
There are a variety of accessories available for the sky lights.
There are certain accessories that enable the ventilation of the hot air
out and cool air in or vice versa. These accessories can help maintain room
temperatures as desired; they do this by automatic sensors that open or
close on sensing the room temperature change. There are also some accessories
available that can control the amount of lighting in the house, by automatically
sensing the light intensity. Most of the skylights are available with roller
shades or Venetian blinds. They not only protect your privacy but also can
enhance the long life of your furniture and prevent them from fading away
from excess heating and sun. For regions receiving rain there are also available
sky light which have rain detecting sensors in them, so on detection they
can close the sky light to prevent rain water from coming in the house.
It is an automatic motor controlled process, and is very useful when we
are not aware of the rain immediately, and saves a lot of trouble. Also
the response time of it is very fast so we need not worry.
The sky light selection
is depending on the roof design mainly, if the design changes we need
to get better skylight as per our need. It is simple, to get the skylight
best suited to your rook, you can ask your contractor who will give you
a free survey and tell which type is best suited for you. For example
roof with narrow trusses can accommodate narrow skylights, while roof
with rafters can have greater flexibility in getting a sky light. From
all these we can see that the roof’s pitch and design have a direct influence
on the skylights.
Finally if you decide to get a sky light make sure that you select a proper
contractor who can give you expert advise on the subject matter.
